What ChatGPT does with it

Once connected, ChatGPT can read your seodraft profile, list topics with measured search volume, pull a SERP brief, draft a post that cites only accepted evidence, run the rules and hand you an approval before anything ships. The tools live behind the connector; the conversation stays inside ChatGPT.

ChatGPT does not add project skills or an editorial rule file the way Cursor's plugin does. Everything the agent knows about the process comes from the tool descriptions themselves and from get_skill, which returns the same writing standard published at seodraft.app/skill.

Delivery still lands as a file with draft: true in your own repository, or as Markdown or HTML you paste elsewhere. ChatGPT never publishes for you.

Connect it

Turn on developer mode first; the toggle moved during 2026, so check both spots below before assuming it is missing.

    Turn on developer mode Settings → Apps → Advanced settings. OpenAI moved this toggle during 2026, so if it is not there, check Settings → Security and login instead.

    Ask an admin, on Business or Enterprise Workspace admins control developer mode on Business and Enterprise plans. A personal account skips this step.

    Sign in to seodraft ChatGPT opens the OAuth prompt; sign in with the seodraft account tied to your workspace.

After connecting

Your seodraft home shows waiting until the first authenticated tool call lands, then switches to connected. The switch happens when ChatGPT calls a tool, so ask it to read your profile once to confirm the connection took.

From there, a normal conversation covers the same ground the app does: set up the profile, save a few topics, ask ChatGPT to write the next scheduled post, read the rules verdict, approve.

Limits of this client

  • No project skills or editorial rule file ship with ChatGPT's connector; the standard lives in get_skill and the tool descriptions, not in a file you can edit.
  • Nothing connects until developer mode is on, and on Business or Enterprise workspaces only an admin can turn it on.
  • OpenAI moved the developer-mode toggle in 2026; expect the exact menu path to keep shifting.

Do I need a plugin from a store?
No. seodraft is a remote MCP server, added as a connector once developer mode is on. There is nothing to install from a store.
Why can't I find developer mode?
OpenAI moved the toggle during 2026. Check Settings → Apps → Advanced settings first, then Settings → Security and login. On Business or Enterprise, an admin has to enable it before it shows up for anyone else.
Can ChatGPT publish the post once it is done?
No. Approval delivers a file with draft: true to your repository, or plain Markdown or HTML. Publishing from your CMS stays a separate, human step.
