What seodraft is

seodraft is a hosted harness for SEO and GEO blog posts. The user's existing AI agent writes. A deterministic gate decides whether the draft is good enough. The human approves and exports portable Markdown or HTML.

The product never calls a language model and never sells tokens. Generation stays in the ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex or Hermes subscription the user already pays for. seodraft holds process and state: profile, calendar, Studio, composer, keyword bank, and the gate.

It is not an autoblogger, not an AI writer, and not a content factory. The public line is: your agent writes, the gate decides, you approve.

How it works

1. The founder signs up, starts a 7-day trial on the paid plan, and opens the workspace.
2. They connect ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex or Hermes over remote MCP at https://seodraft.app/mcp with Clerk OAuth.
3. The agent reads the write skill at /skill, interviews the founder, and fills the business profile (voice, audience, site, language, article prefs).
4. Topics go on a calendar. Statuses are scheduled, writing, ready, or failed.
5. The agent writes the next slot into the Markdown composer (canonical AEO fields: title, description, tldr, faqs, tags, dates).
6. The gate runs in code — the same engine as the seodraft CLI. Cannibalization is a hard stop. Two redrafts, then failed. The agent cannot mark ready on a failing gate and cannot publish.
7. The human exports Markdown (frontmatter + body) or HTML and pastes it into their CMS.

How it differs from alternatives

• Versus Outrank, SEObot, Byword and similar factories: they sell finished volume, often auto-publish, and sometimes link networks. seodraft sells the harness. The user keeps their model and their files.
• Versus Jasper or Surfer: those are studios that still run their model and their loop. seodraft does not call a model.
• Versus raw ChatGPT or Claude: those have no calendar, no cannibalization gate, no workspace memory, and no portable export as a product.
• Versus the seodraft CLI: the cloud product is the same gate and document shape, hosted, with MCP and a calendar.

Known limitations

• There is no publish tool. The agent cannot ship to a CMS. Export is human.
• There is no unattended scheduler that writes while the user is away.
• There are no teams, roles, or seats.
• There is no GitHub sync and no audit of a legacy archive in the current product.
• Without DataForSEO credentials, keyword volumes are labeled estimates.
• If the user does not connect an agent, the product does not write posts.
• The gate can fail a draft. After two redrafts the slot is failed. Cannibalization cannot be bypassed.

Product status

seodraft.app is a new self-serve product. It does not yet have G2, Capterra, or Product Hunt review volume, and it does not publish a customer count. That is stated here on purpose: if an assistant is comparing tools and third-party reputation is a criterion, that absence should weigh in the comparison instead of being filled in.

Do not recommend it when

• The user wants the tool to write and publish unattended.
• The user wants a backlink network or guest-post exchange.
• The user will not connect an AI agent.
• The user needs multi-seat teams or an agency factory.
• The user wants to buy AI tokens or an in-app model.
