What is internal linking?
Internal linking is linking one page of your site to another. The links tell search engines how your pages relate, and they give a reader the next page to open.
Most internal linking tools suggest links for pages that are already published, from inside a CMS plugin. seodraft works while the draft is written: the agent links from the new article to your existing posts, and the rules check the result.

- Every post with a body, with its title, description and headings, read by the agent before it drafts.
- Targets by topic
- The agent chooses what to link from titles, descriptions and headings, never from slug similarity.
- Minimum per article
- Set in your profile from 0 to 10, and 2 by default.
- Links that resolve
- A link to a post that does not exist fails the rules as a broken internal link.
- A new blog
- The minimum applies once you have that many other posts, so the first articles are not blocked.
- Template rotation
- The same inventory lists the shape each post took, so the next article takes a different one.

How the links get in
Links get into a draft in three steps, and the rules count them at the end.

The agent reads the inventory. It calls get_linkgraph and sees every post it can link to, with the headings that say what each one covers.
- 2
It weaves the links while drafting. With too few posts to reach the minimum it says so, and it never invents a URL to fill the count.
- 3
The rules count what resolves. Links to missing posts fail, and a draft under the minimum goes back to the agent before you see it.
What it costs
Internal linking uses no paid data. The inventory is read from your own posts in seodraft, and the check runs with the rest of the rules.

- Does it read pages that are not in seodraft?
- The link inventory is the posts in your seodraft workspace. Pages published elsewhere on your site are read by the sitemap import, which keeps the agent from proposing topics you already covered.
- Can I turn the minimum off?
- Set it to 0 in your profile. A link that points to a missing post still fails.
- Why did my first article pass with no internal links?
- The minimum applies once you have at least that many other posts. With nothing to link to yet, the rule waits.
